We will happily exchange advice via email, or set up an in-person consultation.
Step 2: Consultation: Provide our trainer with some days and times that you are free. Step 3: Decide on a location. We can meet at your home or in a public location. Step 4: Upon arrival we will typically review what was discussed in email and talk first. Step 5: The trainer will provide you with applicable exercises to work on. Please bring treats to your lesson. Step 6: Apply these exercises on your own time, and email our trainer for continued guidance or to set up another consultation. The amount of lessons you sign up for is completely up to you. |
Meet our Trainer-Molly McKinney
Education: Molly is a Carroll College graduate with a bachelor's degree in both Psychology and Anthrozoology and a Master's degree in Canine Developmental Science. As part of the Anthrozoology program at Carroll College, she trained a dog for narcotics detection. After completing the Anthrozoology program, her dog went to work for Working Dogs for Conservation as an anti-poaching detection dog in Zambia, Africa.
Experience: After graduating Carroll, Molly worked at two local dog boarding facilities. She has sourced, tested, and trained dogs for local working dog organizations. She has gained experience by mentoring students and volunteering her training time to service dogs in training. She also created a dog training club in Helena as another means to support the Helena dog community for those that cannot afford training. Current Work: Her true passion lies in training working dogs. She is a certified law enforcement K9 Master Trainer and works with local police K9 teams. She attends yearly American Society of Canine Trainers conferences that allow her to work with disciplines including: conservation, search and rescue, human remains detection, and police K9. She is a certified trainer for the following disciplines::

Our training philosophy is rooted in positive reinforcement and research-based approaches which enable effective communication and shape beneficial outcomes for both owner and dog. We seek to find what motivates your dog and use that to further their learning. We typically use treats, toys, and praise for motivation.

* Any dog adopted from an animal shelter within the last 6 months or any dog that has taken a group class through SkyHi previously is eligible for a %15 discount on group class training services.
